Junior Football
At Central United FC we adopt the New Zealand Football approach to Junior Football. Our aim is to provide all children aged 5-12 years with high quality football experiences that increase passion for the game, fundamental movement and playing skills. All whilst having fun!

Kiwitea Football (U5-U8)
OVERVIEW
The focus for this age group is playing fun games with lots of time on the ball. 'Kiwitea kids' have one session a week on Saturday mornings at our home field on Kiwitea Street. Players are not put into formal teams in this age group and instead different groups are formed each game day. The sessions include activities to develop basic coordination and football skills, followed by small-sided football games.
U5-U8 games are 8:30am to 9:30am.
DATES
The season starts on Saturday 29 April 2023 and will continue until the end of September. Games will be scheduled for each Saturday except on 3 June (KBD weekend), 8 July (school holidays) and 22 July (WWC).
FEES
The fee for the 2023 Winter season for U5-U8 grades is $120.00
COACHES
Activities on Saturday mornings are run by a mixture of parents, youth and senior team players. We are always looking for enthusiastic people to get on the grass and have a bit of fun with the kids. Please indicate on the registration form if you are keen to give it a go! It’s fun, easy to do, and no experience is necessary. The club will provide training, support and all the resources needed to put on the activities. You can see more information here.

NRF Junior Football (U9-U12)
OVERVIEW
The focus for this age group is team training that that focuses on skill development to encourage children to be comfortable on the ball, as well as introduce basic football tactics and teamwork. Players will be placed into a team that trains during the week and plays against other clubs on Saturday mornings in games coordinated by Northern Region Football (NRF).
U9/U10 play 7v7 with goalkeepers on quarter-pitches for a duration of 50 minutes. Home games are played on Saturday mornings at War Memorial Park. The entrance is on Denny Avenue, Mt Roskill.
U11/U12 play 9v9 with goalkeepers on half-pitches for a duration of 55 minutes. Home games are played on Saturday mornings at Seymour Park. The entrance is on Pah Road, Royal Oak.
TEAM OPTIONS
In the 2023 season the club will be offering two team options in the registration form to help with player placement. Those children who are keen to train once a week and play can select the 'yellow' team option. Those who are wanting to train 2-3 times per week can select the 'navy' team option. These options have been introduced with the intention to group kids with similar motivation levels. Placement in a Navy team is dependant on numbers and not guaranteed.
Yellow teams will train once per week as a team with a volunteer coach on a Tuesday or Thursday.
Navy teams will train with a coach once per week as a team on Tuesday and one-two times per week in our Skills Centre program on Wednesday (compulsory) and Monday (optional). Players will need to attend Skills Centre in Term 1, 2 & 3.

If you are placed into a Navy Team, there will be an additional fee to cover the coaching and training costs.
SKILLS CENTRE
Additional weekly training sessions on Monday and/or Wednesday are provided by our partner club Auckland City FC. These sessions are delivered by qualified coaches for any player wanting to improve their individual ability in football, futsal or goalkeeping.

GIRLS FOOTBALL
For U5 to U8 grades, girls and boys are placed into mixed groups/teams, ensuring there is a comfortable mix where possible.
For U9 to U12 grades girls have the option of playing girls-only or mixed football in NRF competitions. If your daughter wishes to play in a girls-only team please indicate this in her registration.

SCHOOL HOLIDAY PROGRAMS
