COVID-19 Update

Due to the ongoing concerns regarding the Covid-19 outbreak, NZ Football and the 7 Member Federations have agreed to postpone all community football until May 2nd 2020.

Therefore the Auckland & Northern Football Federations, advise that effective immediately all community football/futsal activity has been postponed until 2nd May 2020, with all training suspended until 18th April 2020.

This postponement includes all football & futsal pre-season programmes, tournaments, workshops and other community competitions, including  NRFL and social leagues that are currently in progress. Those involved with Football & Futsal including referees, players, officials, and committees are being encouraged to conduct any essential meetings online whenever possible.

NFF CEO John Limna said that “In postponing activities the Federations recognise the uncertainty in the community regarding Covid-19 and are putting the health and wellbeing of participants above all other considerations”

AFF CEO Steven Upfold said “The Auckland & Northern Football Federations would continue to monitor the developing situation, alongside NZ Football. Contingency plans for Club Competitions were being developed for further discussion with clubs in due course”.
