COVID-19 Update – 14 May

COVID-19 Update – 14 May

This week we have moved closer to the football season with the shift into Alert Level 2. New Zealand Football has confirmed that football can begin to return in a measured and calculated capacity within the guidelines that have been produced by Sport NZ. Specific to our region, Auckland Football Federation has advised organised training may resume once the following has been confirmed:

> The council have opened the grounds for training; and
> The Club has all the necessary public health measures in place.

The club is currently working on strategies to meet all the required measures, including contact tracing, social distancing and hygiene requirements, so that we can ensure our football activities are delivered in a safe environment for everyone.

The Auckland Council sports fields remain CLOSED at this time while fields are prepared for the coming season.

Once we have all the information and systems in place, we will communicate our plans and timeline for the restart as soon as we are able to. We can’t wait to get back on the grass, but we also need to ensure everyone’s safety is put first.
