6th - 8th Grades "Fun Football" (born 2010-2012)
These grades have once a week sessions on Saturday mornings in a “Fun Football” environment.
6th Grade is conducted in-house where, each week, groups of 8 learn basic skills and are then split into 2 teams to play small-sided games of 4v4. Sessions will be held at Central’s home ground at Kiwitea St, Sandringham at 8.00am on Saturday mornings.
7th & 8th grade players will be put into mixed teams and will follow a similar format to 6th grade. Both in-house and with other local clubs in the Owairaka League 7th grade sessions will commence at 8.00am and 8th grade sessions will commence at 9.00am and will be held at either at Kiwitea St or at other club's home grounds.
For 8th grade, approximately 2/3 of the way through the season, teams will be introduced to the 7 v 7 concept used in 9th grade.
The season starts on Saturday 5 May 2018 and will continue until the end of August for all grades. Games will be scheduled for each Saturday except 14 July which is the middle Saturday of the July school holidays.
The fee for the 2018 Winter season for 6th, 7th & 8th grade is $100.00.
9th Grade (born 2009)
Players will be placed in teams of 9-10 players. Teams will play other clubs from across the Auckland area in games coordinated by Auckland Football Federation (AFF).
Games will be 7v7 on ¼ pitches of 50 minutes duration and sees the introduction of goalkeepers.
The focus of this grade is on gaining football and teamwork skills as well as ‘having a go’ in a 7v7 environment.
9th grade plays home games on Saturday mornings at War Memorial Park No. 5 field on Denny Avenue, Mt Roskill and generally has a midweek training session at a time chosen by each team's coach.
The season starts on 28 April 2018 and will continue until the end of August. Games will be scheduled for each Saturday except on 14 July which is the middle Saturday of the school holidays.
The fee for the 2018 Winter season in 9th grade is $125.00.
For 5th to 8th grades girls and boys are placed in mixed groups/teams, ensuring there is a comfortable mix.
For 9th grade a girls only team option is available which plays in a girls only league.
If your daughter is in 9th grade and wishes to play in a girls team please indicate in her registration.
Each junior player purchases their own playing strip (shirt, shorts and socks).
There has been a further delay in arrival of new season’s kit. We have socks but no shorts or shirts yet! We have been told the order is in transit and expected within 4 – 5 business days.
Therefore a ‘pop-up shop’ will now be held at the Kiwitea Street Clubrooms on Friday 11 May St from 9.00am to 9.00pm.
As an interim measure, we ask if players can wear a light coloured top and dark shorts and sox for games this Saturday. We will use bibs during the session to distinguish teams.
Thanks for your understanding.
Socks: $15 a pair
Combo (shirt, shorts, socks): $95
Boots and shin pads are compulsory and players are not permitted to play without them.
When purchasing a ball, please ensure players have a ball of the appropriate size for the grade they play in:
5th to 8th grade: plays with size 3 balls
9th grade: plays with size 4 balls
Central United has a strong focus on developing its Juniors and Youth for playing in future top Mens and Womens teams.

Coaching & Game Leaders
6th, 7th & 8th Grades
Parents are encouraged to have a go at taking the role of Game Leader for 1 hour a week. No experience is necessary, its fun and its very easy to do with simple instructions given out to Game Leaders each Saturday.
Most teams are led/coached by a parent or parents willing to look after a team for the season. It is a very rewarding experience and lots of fun too.
If you may be interested in taking up one of these roles please indicate this on the enrolment form.
Courses and assistance for all coaches /game leaders will be available from both within the club and through AFF.
