Club Physio Injured

Club Physio Injured

Club physio Rachael Harris sustained one of the worst injuries suffered by anyone at the club this season. Rachael, who was a lively hockey player until she decided to give soccer a go, dislocated her knee in a game of indoor, sending the patella on a 90 degree journey, which ended with it facing sideways. This was a very painful injury and left our physio in a leg brace. However Rach has not missed a beat with her job for the club and was on duty as normal at training and on matchday last week, with a pair of crutches to prop her up.
Who said there were no more Hero’s?

Merderka Tournament

Merderka Tournament

Central have been asked to release six players for the national teams trip to play in the Merderka Tournament in Malaysia. The original request was for four but has increased to six due to the Football Kingz giving Soccer New Zealand a “No” to the release of any of their players for this tournament.
The tournament starts on August 12th and could see the club face a crucial play-off to avoid relegation and a semi – final Chatham Cup game. It will be a difficult task without these players and it is harder to swallow given the Kingz stance on the non-release of their players at a time when they are not playing.
The players asked for are :-
Brad Scott, Josh Stick, Noah Hickey, Gareth Rowe, Ross Nicholson and Campbell Banks.
