National League 2000

Central will compete in the National League for the year 2000.

The League will contain 10 teams, 7 teams from the North Island and 3 from the South Island.

The 2000 season will start on March 26 with a home game against Nelson Suburbs at 2pm.

The top-4 clubs after 18 rounds will play off for the title; the bottom club will play off against the winners of the Federation/Regional Championship to remain in the top division. Bonus points will be awarded for scoring three or more goals in one match *and* for winning by three or more goals.

Reserve team

Reserve team

The reserve team are set to play in the Northern League 1st Division for the 2000 season.

This squad will include many of the Under 19 side that won the Napier tournament at the end of last season and are sure to be an exciting outfit to watch as some of these players are knocking on the door of the first team and are among the countries finest young talent.

Coaches Dave White and Paul Marshal are looking forward to the start of the season when they take on near neighbours Bay Olympic at Crum Park on the 25th March at 2:45pm.

Co – Coaches Paul Posa and Ricky Herbert are looking to strengthen their squad after the departure of Paul Urlovic (Melbourne Knights), Fred de Jong and Ivan Vicelich (Auckland Kingz), Mathew Urlovic (St. Albans, Melbourne).

All White and Under 23 player Josh Stick has already been signed, with a few more likely to follow in the near future
