Paul Urlovic – (Melbourne Knights), Noah Hickey – (Marconi), Fred de Jong and Ivan Vicelich – (Auckland Kings).
Those are just some of the players heading away from the club this year. Mathew Urlovic and Greg Uhlmann are also possible movers.
The club wish all the players well for their future. The rebuilding, prior to next years National League, will no doubt see interesting and exciting times.
Injuries denied Central the opportunity to show their best form in Fiji. The team had eight players receiving treatment before the semi-final against local side Nadi, which was lost 0 – 1.
However the trip will stand the club in good stead for the future with many of the younger players gaining vital experience. The team spirit built during the trip was impressive and some great moments were shared by all.
Central defeated Dunedin Technical 3 – 1 after extra time to win the New Zealand Club Championship play-off.
The win means that the team now head to Fiji for the Oceania Club Championships which start on 18/09/99.
